Happy New Year!

Wow!  Can it really be 2015?  I don't know about you, but the time really seems to fly by for me anymore.  How about you?  My mother tells me it is because I have so many projects I want to do, designs I want to get out there, and too many fun things on my plate.  I really can't argue with her, she's right!

Living in Western Montana, the weather has finally turned to winter.  We even had about 5 inches of snow last week and then it turned cold....I mean cold, not just cold but, COLD.  Winter gives me some time to draw and sew, especially when the Grandchildren don't even want to go sledding.  I have been very creative this past month and can start sewing up my drawings to see how much I like them finished.  Should be fun and exciting.  I can't wait to share them with you.

Other exciting news around here is guess who has a book coming out this summer?  Yes, you guessed it, me!  It is a book with projects all using the Double Stitch and I hope you will love them.  More information will be released as soon as the photography is complete.  This has been such an amazing process.  I have so many more designs I would love to share with you in a second book.  Let's see how it goes.

Happy 2015!
Remember to take care of yourself, mind-body-& creativity.

Happy Stitching,

Back in town!

We are Back in town!

It has been a crazy travel month for Mountain Patchwork in October, but what a wonderful time we had at the shows.

At the WSQ-Spokane Chapter show, the attendees were greeted with a wonderful featured quilter who does amazing work. It takes awhile to look at her quilts and oooh and ahhh over them.

While vending at the Spokane Show we met great ladies and a few gentlemen.  The guild has this show down to a fine art.  The organization of hanging the quilts, volunteers, and take down is marvelous to watch.  Such hard workers to put on the show.  And their boutique is a great place to stop and purchase a few presents for your sewing family and friends.

We usually have the same location at the show and here is a picture of our booth this year at the Spokane show.
Love the Fall/Autumn time of year and decorating with fall leaves, hay and pumpkins is additional fun.
Enjoy and Happy Stitching!

Welcome!

Well, here I am…in BLOG WORLD!  Oh my…

The most interesting aspect of doing a blog, is thinking of subjects that others may want to read about.  This is where anyone’s opinion would be helpful.  We all have so many interests and I would like to incorporate many of them into this blog if I can.  So as you read along, month after month, chime in and let me know what is interesting or what is not.

October in the Mountain Patchwork world is a busy month.  The only retail show I go to all year is the Spokane Quilt Show in Spokane Washington.  This is a wonderful show with over 500 quilts on display and plenty of vendors for a variety of shopping under one roof.  Fun stuff.   I will try and post some pictures when I get back.   I love seeing all the wonderful quilts that have been created by talented people.  I am always mesmerized by the colors and their creativity.

The next week after the Spokane show is International Quilt Market in Houston Texas.  This is where all your local quilt stores can see in person the patterns, books, fabrics and notions they want to carry in their stores.  It may sound like fun to be a shop owner on the floor at Market, but I can tell you what sensory overload looks like on all the faces after 3 days.  It is a busy few days, but I love seeing familiar faces and showing them what we have new.  After all, that is what it is all about, right?

So as I finish stuffing patterns and sewing samples this week, I will need to get out in the garden and dig up the potatoes.  This is my favorite time of year, but I have to admit I am already missing the veggies out of the garden.  Do you garden?  Big or small?  Flowers or vegetables?  This year I had something growing in the garden that grew so fast and was actually very pretty, that I knew it had to be a weed.  Too bad, it was a fast grower too.

As I said before, I will try and post pictures when I return from the shows and give you a glimpse into my world.

Remember to keep stitching!
